In Houston, it's not the worst thing in the world if you have to move in the winter. It can be a nice cool relief.

The Moving Planner Blog recently released its tips for moving during winter, but many of the items on there are likely not relevant for those moving to or from Houston.

Much of the post discusses difficulties moving in colder weather. In Houston, I don't think anyone has ever had to worry about shoveling or salting snow.

On most days during the winter, a nice cold lemonade would take precedent over boiling coffee.

Of the little winter clothing you may have, keep a jacket handy for one of those rare 50-degree days.

But in case you are moving from Houston to say Canada, there are some things to look out for. It would be wise to trade in some of your swimsuits for parka's and prep your vehicle for icy roads.
